A Letter from Our Moderator

August 1, 2023

Dear Friends,

After five years of ministry, the time has come to say our final farewells to our beloved Transitional Minister Lexi Boudreaux. As we move towards staffing transitions with Lexi’s imminent departure, we invite you to a series of important events that will take place in the coming weeks.

Ecclesiastes reminds us,

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

…a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

…a time to break down, and a time to build up;

…a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

…a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

…a time to seek, and a time to lose…

In this spirit, we will have a Healing Service on August 13, when we will gather as a community to seek solace, restoration, and renewal. It will be a time to lift up our prayers and support one another as we navigate what is ahead.

We also invite you to join us for Lexi’s final sermon with us on August 20, as she prepares to embark on a new chapter of her spiritual journey. Lexi has been a guiding light within our congregation, and her words and service have touched our hearts deeply. Let us come together to honor her and listen to the wisdom she will share on this significant day.

Lastly, we will be hosting a Leavetaking Service on August 27, where we will bid farewell to Lexi as she moves forward on her path of faith. It will be a time to express gratitude for her invaluable contributions and to wish her well as she embraces new opportunities in service to the Lord.

Please mark these dates on your calendars, and join us. Let us heed the wisdom of Ecclesiastes, recognizing the appointed seasons in our lives and supporting one another as we traverse them.

May the love and grace of our Lord guide and strengthen us as we come together in fellowship.

Yours in faith,

Moana Bentin
